Caprese SaladA salad named for the Isle of Capri, is the perfect way to eat Caputo Brothers Creamery’s fresh cheeses. A beautiful display of colors, this salad works well as either an appetizer or a light, refreshing summer meal.



  • A couple of medium sized ripe tomatoes (slicing, not saucing varieties preferred), cut into 1/4 inch thick slices.
  • Caputo Brothers Creamery Cagilata stretched into Fior di Latte (fresh mozzarella) or Burrata, cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
  • One bunch of fresh basil
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • Coarse sea salt and fresh ground pepper


Layer alternating slices of tomatoes and Caputo Brothers Creamery cheese, adding a basil leaf between each tomato and cheese pair, on a large, shallow platter. Drizzle the Caprese salad with extra-virgin olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
