We’re excited to welcome Chef Bill McGinnis back into the kitchen!  Those of you who joined us for lunch on Wednesdays will remember some of Bill’s inventive and flavorful dishes.  Bill joined the CBC team in 2015, becoming an integral part of our cheesemaking operation – responsible for our award-winning Vecchio! – and all things aging and fermenting. A south-central PA native, Bill grew up on food from the family garden and working on a nearby farm.  After deciding to make a career out of his love of the kitchen life, his first restaurant job was as a dishwasher at 15 and then worked his way up to line cook.  After Bill’s first chef job in downtown Harrisburg, he moved to the Accomac Inn where he served as sous chef and found his niche drawing on his roots and utilizing the vast amount of available local ingredients from York and Lancaster counties.  Time spent at Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore (one of CBC’s first customers!) solidified his vision of taking local, hand-sown ingredients and respecting them through cooking and preserving techniques, pairings and presentation – matching perfectly with what Caputo Brothers Creamery aims to showcase!

Retail Shop

Our retail shop is open Monday-Friday from 9a.m. to 5p.m.

One of the best ways to eat in Italy is to visit and shop at a local market, and at Caputo Brothers Creamery, we expect to bring that same experience to you in Spring Grove!  Our retail shop is stocked with our artisan cheeses – fresh ricotta, aged provola & provola piccante, smoked mozzarella and our award-winning Vecchio!  And don’t forget CapoMozz – the frozen curds to make your own mozzarella at home!

Our cheesemakers stretch fresh fior di latte (cow’s milk mozzarella) each morning – just like in Italy!
