The night before our guests arrive in Italy is always one of great excitement for us. With the whole tour in front of us, it’s easy to become over-eager about all the upcoming treats and surprises we have in store for our travelers. The greatest part about being able to conduct tours with smaller groups is that we can provide a more individualized, personal experience to some of our favorite spots in Italy. This Fall ’13 tour will be no different!
Today we spent the day in Greve in Chianti at Ancora di Chianti–home of our dear friends Laura and Fillipo–and where we will welcome everyone tomorrow. This sprawling agriturismo has been a 13 year work in progress and is certainly one of the most special places in Italy, at least to us–it’s where we were engaged almost 9 years ago!
It is truly a treasure you have to see to believe how beautiful it is. Laura and Fillipo plan to harvest their grapes this Saturday and we could not be more excited to see and share in the excitement! The pictures cannot do justice!
The rest of the day was spent exploring downtown Greve in Chianti and finding an exquisite butcher shop, Antica Macelleria Falorni. The smell when you walk in must be experienced once in your life–fresh meats and cheeses abound! Not to mention, wall upon wall of wine!
Tomorrow we welcome our guests and embark on the first official day of the Fall 2013 Passeggiata!
We hope you’ll join us here each day to get full updates!
